Workster is partnering with a leading multi-strategy investment firm to recruit a Data Operations Analyst / Business Analyst for its offices in Sofia.

This role sits at the intersection of technology and investment operations, supporting and enhancing data workflows across trading, operations, risk, accounting, and compliance. You will play a key part in strengthening data integrity, improving automation, and optimizing operational efficiency within a fast-paced financial environment.

Your Role

  • Investigate and resolve operational data issues, including reconciliation discrepancies and reference data mismatches
  • Diagnose system and data flow problems by analyzing logs, datasets, and upstream/downstream dependencies
  • Design, develop, and enhance ETL pipelines integrating internal and external data into the firm’s data warehouse
  • Build and maintain SQL queries, transformation logic, data mappings, and business rules
  • Develop data validation routines, automated scripts, and monitoring frameworks to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Support testing, migration, and deployment of new data feeds and system enhancements
  • Integrate data from APIs, databases, SFTP sources, flat files, and third-party systems
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Maintain clear documentation of data workflows, mappings, and system logic

Your Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries (BigQuery is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Python or another scripting/programming language
  • Experience working with large datasets and multi-source data integration
  • Basic understanding of financial products such as Equities, Fixed Income, and Derivatives within an investment operations environment
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working on cross-functional projects in dynamic, fast-paced settings
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
  • Excellent communication skills and strong documentation practices
